Ballast needs a running computer, internet access and working services. It cannot guarantee a profit or prevent losses.

Your trading records and settings are stored on your Windows PC. The Ballast website does not hold your trading history.
Windows protects saved passwords and keys under your Windows user account. That does not encrypt every record or protect you from all malware.

Receives account and order requests so Ballast can check your holdings and trade when you've enabled it.
News and AI services
Supply market information and research. AI features can send relevant research, holdings or trading-plan information to the AI provider. Provider terms and charges apply.

Before using real money
Know what
can stop a trade.
Trading can lose money. A stop-loss cannot guarantee a sale or a price. Internet problems, unavailable prices, broker outages or an order needing review can prevent the bot from acting.
STOP halts automated buying and selling. Closing the browser window alone can leave the bot running. Learn how the controls work or follow the order flow.
About this beta
0.4.0-beta is an early version for invited testers. Options execution is disabled. Research does not automatically add investments to the trading list. This is not a security certification or a claim of regulatory approval.
Installation and security details
Supported updates check that the download is genuine and unchanged. They preserve private trading data and keep recovery copies. Older versions may need a manual upgrade.
Windows publisher signing is still pending, so Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Do not disable antivirus. Ballast's update checks and Windows publisher signing are different things.
The app is designed to run privately on your computer, not as a public website. Its activity records help you review changes but cannot prove that a determined attacker hasn't rewritten the local database.
New installs use your local Windows profile. Moving an existing installation needs a reviewed migration; that cannot erase old cloud backups. Read the security guide.

For privacy, access or deletion questions, contact hello@ballastdigital.xyz. Don't email passwords, keys, full account numbers or private databases.
Invitations and email
We record your email, invitation or referral details, signup time, approximate country and browser information to manage beta access. Our hosting services process connection details such as IP addresses to run and protect the site.
Registered testers receive beta maintenance notices. Optional promotional emails require confirmation and include an unsubscribe link. Referral counts show invitation use, not verified installations.
Website performance
Cloudflare adds a browser script to measure page usage and performance and sends those measurements to Cloudflare. This is separate from the optional in-app sharing below. How Cloudflare's performance measurement works.
Optional community sharing
This in-app feature is off by default. If you turn it on, Ballast receives your selected investment symbols and an identifier for your installation. This is not anonymous. The feature does not send your trading history.
Keeping and deleting data
Providers, email services and your own backups may hold additional copies. Our processes for keeping only necessary data and handling deletion remain part of the beta's ongoing work.
